SHILLONG: Independent MLA from Nongkrem and chairman of the State Planning Board Lambor Malngiang is planning to contest the upcoming council election from the same constituency.
Malngiang on Saturday said though he has not decided yet but “different women and youth organisations are asking me to contest”. “I will convene a meeting shortly and then we will take a final call on the matter,” he said.
The Nongkrem seat in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council is currently held by HS Shylla.
GH visit
Malngiang will visit Garo Hills on Monday for a three-day tour to review different government schemes which were sanctioned but not taken up till now. “I will also see the Tura Medical College project and the Ganol Power project there,” Malngiang said.
