Land encroachment
Thanda Pamthied, Ekli Rupei, Ioochame Thoo and Santa Pamthied, lodged a complaint that some people from Lumphyllut Umkiang village in EJH led by Fantin Pajat, Khlur Suchiang, Westly Dhar and Phillip Sdor, cut down betel nut trees and other trees from their Areca nut plantation for construction of village road without informing the landowners. When the complainants went to request them not to do so, they threatened them. Loss of property is estimated to be Rs. 35,25,000 approximately.

Son threatens mother
Priska Suja (46) lodged a complaint that on January 21 around 5 am, her son, Riki Suja (19) demanded money from her and on her refusal to give in to his demand, he threatened to assault her, other family members, the neighbours and also attempted to commit suicide.

Fraud
Amit Kumar lodged a complaint that on January 21 he received a text message that Rs. 30,000/- has been debited from his SBI account, without his knowledge.

Property damaged
Ramesh Kumar of M/s Reliance Jio, Shillong lodged a complaint that on January 20, unknown miscreants broke into a tower at Lyngdoh Masi village (WKH) and burned down the ‘Outdoor Optic Connector’ of Mairang site. Damage of property is estimated at Rs 30 lakh.

Assault
Khalek Sheikh of Borshibanda village (WGH) lodged a complaint that on January 20 around 6.30 pm, while his younger brother was on the way to a mosque for ‘namaz’, six persons namely, Shahjun, Soipul, Sahabuddin, Minu Bibi, Sophya Bibi and Jully Begum assaulted him.

Batteries stolen
Pandurang Prasad lodged a complaint that on January 19, while visiting a site at Star Cement (EJH) he found that unknown miscreants stole one battery valued around Rs. 1,60,000/- from the site.
