Compensation for male child victim

SHILLONG: The state government has added male child victim of sexual abuse in the Meghalaya Victim Compensation Scheme, 2015.
Speaking to reporters after a Cabinet meeting on Friday, Home Minister James Sangma said that the Ministry of Women and Child Development had asked the state government to include male child victim of sexual abuse in the scheme. Besides, even the Ministry of Home Affairs had asked the government to modify the scheme as per the central victim compensation scheme to be eligible for central funds.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also decided to extend the term of Administrative Rules and Regulations Advisory Committee for a period of another two years effective from February 12 since it still has some pending tasks to do like treasury rules, Meghalaya financial rules besides others.
