SHILLONG: Hayithung Bill Lotha, BJP national secretary for Scheduled Tribe and Minorities, has resigned from the primary membership of the party.
He tendered his resignation to BJP president, Amit Shah, on Tuesday.
In his letter, he stated that the environment within the party is “stifling, toxic and suffocating and of destructive sidelining of good leaders and workers’.
He asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is inflicting great torture on the indigenous people and extended solidarity to North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) and other organisations who opposed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
