Applications re-invited
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District will effect fresh appointments for government nominees/agents in PDS for 2019. The DC said interested/bonafied persons/co-operative societies/NGOs/SHGs/government agents for Mawkneng Centre can apply.

Dry days
The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi district has issued an order for the closure of all IMFL retail shops, bars, bonded warehouses, bottling units, country made spirit shops, outstills, breweries and canteens in Ri Bhoi district on February 26 and 27 on account of the upcoming council election. There will be dry day also on March 2 during the counting of votes.

MRP system implemented
With reference to TRAI orders effective from February 1, the MRP system has been implemented all over India and all pay channels have been switched off. Only free to air channels are being transmitted. In this connection, the Lelangki Cable Network has requested customers to contact their respective cable operators for further information.

Road safety programme
William Carey University celebrated Road Safety Week by organising an awareness programme on its premises. The programme was held in collaboration with Maruti Driving School with Sanjeev Swer serving as the resource person. The event aimed at raising awareness about traffic rules, driving signs, signals with a view to reduce casualties due to road accidents.
