EMRI staff assured of pay hike, better work conditions

SHILLONG: A meeting was convened by the Health Department to discuss the grievances of the GVK-EMRI staff on Wednesday.
The department and the GVK-EMRI state officials appealed to the field representative to call off all protests with immediate effect and to work as a team to ensure uninterrupted emergency service.
In a media statement, the government informed that in the meeting the proposals for revised wage, replacement of ambulances and equipment are in the process of necessary approvals.
The government has assured rolling out of the same at the earliest.
The working conditions were also discussed at length in the meeting that was chaired by the additional chief secretary in-charge of health and family welfare along with GVK-EMRI state officials and field staff representatives.
It was also assured that the Health Department and the District Administration will ensure better resting places for the field staff.
