TURA: The general observers for 2-Tura Parliamentary Constituency Kailash Chand Gupta and Ahola Those held a meeting with party representatives at the Circuit House in Tura, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and Bye-election to 48-Selsella (ST) legislative Assembly Constituency.
During the meeting, Gupta talked about the necessity to abide by the rules as per the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct during the election process.
Ahola Those assured that general observers or returning officers in the district can be contacted if any issue relating to violation of Model Code of Conduct arises.
Returning officer to 2-Tura Parliamentary Constituency, Ram Singh, briefed about the do’s and don’ts to the party representatives and requested them to follow the guidelines.
Returning officer for the Bye-election to 48-Selsella Legislative Assembly Constituency, MT Sangma, said that there will be two voting compartments at the polling booths with two electronic voting machines.
There will also be two kinds of voting slips which will be issued to the voters where the white voting slip will be for Lok Sabha and pink voting slip for Legislative Assembly.
“Since this is the first time Selsella is going for simultaneous elections, numerous awareness programmes to sensitise the voters is going on urging the voters to vote for both the polls on the polling day,” Sangma added.
