Body recovered
An unidentified body of a man was found lying on a waiting shed at Debajani village under Mahendraganj Police Station on Saturday.
The man, aged about 40-50 years, is of swarthy complexion and 5.4 feet height. His appearance is that of a non-tribal having curly hair, beard and moustache.
The body has since been sent to Ampati Civil Hospital for post mortem examination and is being kept in the hospital morgue as none has come forward to claim the body so far.

Unauthorised transactions
Kynsai Edward Syndor lodged a complaint that on May 5, he learnt that six unauthorised money transactions amounting to Rs. 31,752, took place from his SBI account without his knowledge.

Duped
Hightoper A Sangma of Thliew Umtham village (East Khasi Hills) lodged a complaint that he was cheated of Rs. 67,000 by a person who introduced himself as Branch Manager of SBI Main Office, Mumbai and informed him over phone that he had won a prize of Rs. 25 lakh and that he required to deposit money in order to claim the prize. The complainant also learnt that the account number to which he deposited the money belonged to Masum Kumar.

Woman tortured
A complaint was lodged that Sima Deb 4th Furlong, Polo in Shillong, who was illegally wedded to Rajan Deb on May 31, 2016 as per Hindu Customary Law, soon after their marriage, her husband started physically abusing her and mentally tortured. Her in-laws Nishit Deb and his wife Joba Deb also demanded dowry from Sima.
