MDCs to get Rs 1 cr each

SHILLONG: Rs 1 crore will be allotted to each MDC constituency from the special assistance scheme from the Centre, executive member of Development Martle Mukhim said on Friday.
Informing that the Finance Ministry has sanctioned Rs 50, 17, 95, 000 out of which Rs 34 crore has been released, Mukhim said the ministry has assured to release the remaining Rs 15 crore which was stalled due to the Lok Sabha polls.
“Rs 1 crore will be given to 29 MDCs for which they will send a recommendation or a proposal’, Mukhim said, adding that this is not an MDC scheme but a scheme meant for development purposes in the constituencies.
