Agatha hands over memo on Garo language to PM

TURA: Member of Parliament from Tura Agatha K Sangma on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submitted a memorandum of the A’chik Literature Society seeking inclusion of Garo language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.
The A’chik Literature Society, through the inclusion of the Garo language in the 8th Schedule, is seeking protection and preservation of the language besides promoting and strengthening it.
The last time a delegation of the society met with top Indian leaders was on December 18 last when a similar memorandum was handed over to then Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh among others.
