District admin opens disaster helplines

Shillong: Due to the extreme downpour in East Khasi Hills, the District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC) has been made alert to receive information on any disaster-related matter. The Emergency Operations Centre can be contacted at 0364-2502094 and 0364-2225280, and can be e-mailed at [email protected].
Furthermore, for quick and effective response by the District Administration, following officers are detailed for duty with immediate effect.
They can be contacted via calls or SMS. In Laitumkhrah area, I Majaw can be contacted at 9612002864. Others, who can be contacted, are M Lakiang (Laban Area/7005379399), MB Tongper (Sadar Area/8787687002), Kum BL Pakyntein (8794253770/Lumdiengjri including Upper Shillong), E Warjri (Rynjah/8794785801), Kum HML Kynta (8794320344/Madanrting Area), M Kshir (Mawlai and Mawpat Area/9615285656).
For matters related with Forest Department, the DFO Territorial can be contacted at 8837496298. Information can also be sent to the Superintendent of Police at 0364-2215427/2222215.
All BDOs are to be alert and to respond immediately to any disaster-related incident within their jurisdiction.
