SHILLONG: The Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, organised a competition as part of the 12th Inter Shillong Cultural Event 2019 at RB Anup Chand Hindi Secondary school in Keating Road on Sunday.
The three categories in the competition were English recitation, Bengali recitation and dance centering on Tagore’s songs.
The event, which kicked off at 11am witnessed the participation of a number of students.
Judges included Jona Goswami, Sameek Das, Shubhasish Dasgupta, Suborno Mukherjee, Jayanti Deb, Durbadal Mukherjee, Devi Goswami Dey, Sanghita Dutta and Jumki Bhattacharjee.
The club will also organise a variety of competitions such as a marathon, art, essay, quiz and others at same venue on July 28.
Spot entry will be available for all who wish to participate.
