SHILLONG: The sensitisation programmes for Chief Minister’s E-Champion Challenge that was launched by Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister on August 14 are under way in all districts.
The programme which is led by Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE) in partnership with Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) and Indian Institute of Management- Calcutta Innovation Park (IIM-CIP) have been holding orientation programmes with the staff members of Enterprise Facilitation Centres (EFCs), District Commerce and Industries Centres (DCICs) and Common Service Centres (CSCs) so as to identify and encourage potential entrepreneurs to make the most of the opportunity provided by the state government.
The Labour Commissioner and Director of MIE, Shri. Barnari Mawlong along with his team from MIE, IIM-CIP and MBDA are in the process of sensitizing the masses about the Chief Minister’s E-Champion Challenge.
The last date to apply for the challenge is September 30.
The first orientation programme was conducted at the State Central Library, Shillong on August 23 in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, I. Majaw, who was the chief guest. As many as 50 individuals participated in the programme.
The second orientation programme was held at Nongpoh in Ri Bhoi on August 27 in which Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi, D. P Kharsati was the chief guest.
The third and fourth sensitisation programmes were held at Jowai in West Jaintia Hills and Khliehriat in East Jaintia Hills respectively on August 30.
In West Jaintia Hills, Additional Deputy Commissioner R.S Manners was the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner F. M. Dopth was the chief guest in East Jaintia Hills.
The fifth session of the Chief Minister’s E-Champion Challenge programme was held at Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills on September 3, in the presence of Enterprise Facilitation Centre (EFCs), District Industries Centre (DICs) and Common Service Centre (CSCs) staff members.
The sixth orientation programme was conducted by MIE in Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills with Deputy Commissioner, Isawanda Laloo, who was the Chief Guest on September 5.
The programmes in all 6 districts witnessed active interactive sessions that gave the participabnts a platform to put forward their suggestions for the programme.
Similar orientation programmes will be conducted in the districts of Garo Hills in the coming days.
