SHILLONG: The Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation (ACHDO) has urged the state government to immediately release and distribute untensils to the flood-affected victims.
In a statement issued on Friday, the organisation said that months after floods had ravaged several parts of the state, victims are yet to receive materials for daily use.
“Only one village in Phulbari received untensils consisting of ten items after a long wait,” the statement said.
Questioning the authorities, the ACHDO asked if the concerned department is deliberately delaying or there are some genuine technical issues for the delay.
The organisation also asked the government when the victims will get compensation.
The organisation demanded immediate repairing of the damaged roads.
“We have spoken to the flood-affected people and they have requested for distribution of rehabilitation materials,” the ACHDO said.
