TURA: An RTI activist from Tura alleged that two forest officials continued to withdraw monthly salary for the past three years in the form of muster roll payment in the name of a causal worker who has discontinued service since June 2016.
The activist from Babupara, C M Sangma showed details of the RTI reply in which it was found that the two forest rangers had been fraudulently withdrawing the salary in the name of a muster roll worker who had already left the job in 2016. “I filed an RTI petition to the DFO – Territorial, (WGH and SWGH) for the list of muster roll workers. In the list, the name of one Biwijan Bewa under serial number 79 shocked me as the person has discontinued working since June 11, 2016,” said Sangma in a statement.
Bewa was a muster roll worker in the Hollaidanga Range under WGH. The activist demanded action against the guilty officers.
