JOWAI: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP), Jaintia Hills District Unit (JHDU) has condemned the leaders of the Meghalaya People’s United Front (MPUF) for misusing the name of FKJGP-JHDC in the media which stated that the NGOs demanded East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police’s immediate transfer after the arrest of its four members allegedly for their involvement in an extortion case near Wapung village.
“We, the FKJGP-JHDU, have no idea about the news item and we strongly condemned those leaders of the MPUF who had dragged the name of our organisation without our knowledge”, FKJGP, Jaintia Hills Unit president, Tuesday Lytep said.
“We never demanded that the SP of EJH should be removed just because the EJH Police arrested MPUF members”, the Jaintia Hills Unit president added.
“The MPUF leaders must clarify the mater else we will be taking legal action against them as they have tarnished and defamed the name of our organisation”, Lytep added.
