NONGPOH: The village leaders of Raid Tyrso in Ri Bhoi District express their unhappiness and anguish over the alleged interference of an NGO leader, viz. Hercules Suting along with his accomplices, in the ongoing construction of a road at Raid Tyrso recently.
According to the statement given by the headmen of Raid Tyrso from four villages, a contractor, implementing the road construction, has complained to them that Hercules Suting, who is also the general secretary of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), Ri Bhoi, was meddling with in the construction work, which led the contractor to temporarily stop the work.
They also stated that it is important for the road to be completed as early as possible as the Presbyterian church of Tyrso will host the Ri Bhoi Synod later in March this year.
They further urged the concerned contractor to resume the construction work so that works finish at the earliest. The headmen also said that they will extend all support to facilitate smooth implementation of the project.
