Tribal Threads Fusion calendar 2020 combines the innovative designs of Samantha Sharpe Rumnong and Naphisa Pala. The wall calendar was launched on January 5. Twelve models draped in the local designers’ creations were photographed through the versatile lens of Baia Marbaniang. Each month is unique, placing the models in rural settings in as far as East Jaintia Hills. Some photographs were clicked in the suburban locations of Shillong like Baniun and Mawphlang and a few in Nartiang. Heikaru Suchiang, an emerging artiste from Jaintia Hills, was the make-up magician. A table calendar was also published in a limited edition featuring designers Duncan Kharmon and Rumnong and 13 models. It was launched on January 10. Both the calendars were conceptualised by Aldous Mawlong. “These (the calendars) will definitely inspire the models, the designers and the make-up artistes,” said Mawlong.
