SHILLONG: With Italy inspiring thousands across the globe with their balcony singing, Shillong, too, came together to spread positive vibes through music by singing Heal the World by Michael Jackson.
In a video which has been doing the rounds on social media, artiste Vancouver Shullai is seen delivering a powerful message. “As you’re aware there is so much happening in the world right now. And if there is anything that the world needs at this moment is definitely positivity. So I have gathered a few of my friends who are amazing singers to join hands with me to put that positivity into the world through music,” said Shullai.
The singers in order of appearance are- Vancouver Shullai, Grace Maureen, Veniza Kharnaior, Baniakitlang Dohtdong, Wadlashem Mawa, Yusuf Kharprim, Meda Kharkongor, Cathrine Pyngrope, Mebalajied Kharkongor, Edisa Pathaw and Melvin Pathaw, Tiarra Sawkmie, Shambhavi Dwevedi, Donlakador Rynjah, Pynksan Syiem, Iomaya Syiem, Badahun Shullai and Gordon Thabah.
Speaking about the video, Shullai said that the entire idea came when the COVID-19 wave started and people were staying home and that’s when he thought about doing something which would create positivity and optimism.
He said that he refrained from inviting his friends for the recording. The artiste, however, was not expecting such an overwhelming response. “I am happy for the fact that the video is making people’s mood better.”
