Curfew on in Ri Bhoi

Nongpoh: In view of the prevailing situation, the District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi district, Nongpoh has promulgated a curfew in the whole district with effect from Sunday 6 am to
6 am of May 4.
The curfew will not affect arrangement of fair price shops, identified groceries and essential items, vegetables, fruits, meat vendors, confectionery shops, shops  dealing in essential goods, courier services for essential goods, common services centres, services by self employed person such as electricians, IT repairs, plumbers, motor mechanics, carpenters while shops for repair of trucks on National Highways are allowed to be open from 9 am to 5 pm.
Further, hardware wholesale shops and hardware shops in rural areas with permission from the Deputy Commissioner, livestock farming, poultry, fishery and hatcheries, collection, processing and distribution of milk and milk products, warehouses, manufacturing, packaging and distribution of agriculture inputs, seed, animal feed and fodder, movements of harvesting and sowing related machines are permitted to be open.

Other activities which are allowed to operate are tea industry with maximum 50 per cent workforce, transportation of agriculture products, veterinary hospital, dispensary and clinic, food processing and bricks industries in rural areas, MNREGA works, construction of roads, irrigation projects, building and all kind of industrial projects, MSMEs in rural areas quarrying of chips, aggregate and transportation etc.

The District Magistrate informed that similar arrangements will be made in the future.
