SHILLONG: A village in the Meghalaya-Assam border in Jaintia Hills is deprived of essential commodities since the Dorbar Shnong of another village did not allow the items to be transported there.
The residents of Moojem are not receiving the essentials as the Dorbar Shnong of Sahsniang allegedly stopped the vehicle carrying the items.
In a statement issued here, spokesperson of Hynniewtrep Border Dispute Redressal Forum (HBDRF), Thomas Passah, said that Moojem is in the border and since the village is not included in Meghalaya, they enlisted the help of neighbouring village, Moolber, for car pass from West Jaintia Hills. The forum said that the village of Sahsniang did not allow any vehicle to enter the village.
In this connection, the forum has asked Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to help the people living in border areas.
