New Delhi : The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday that the data and break-up of coronavirus cases in the country will be uploaded on its website only once a day.

The Health Ministry said on its official website, “From 06.05.2020, the case status will be updated on the website only once a day in the morning instead of twice a day, as is being done presently. All concerned may please note.”

However, the ministry did not mention the reason behind this new strategy.

India on Tuesday witnessed the highest single day spike in the total number of coronavirus cases, as at least 3,900 new cases and 195 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours.

The total number of cases in India has reached 46,433, of which 32,138 are active cases while 1,568 persons have succumbed to the dreaded virus so far. A total of 12,726 people have been cured, according to the Health Ministry data.
