SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, has directed wholesale traders of Cantonment, Mawlong Hat, Paltan Bazar, Madanrting and Happy Valley markets to keep their establishments open for lifting of stocks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 9 AM and 4 PM.
On Friday, the lifting of stocks will be permitted for Civil-Sub Divisions and C&RD Blocks of East Khasi Hills, East and West Jaintia Hills, West and South West Khasi Hills and their respective Civil Sub-Divisions besides Ri Bhoi.
On Saturday, stocks may be lifted from Shillong agglomeration and its adjoining areas (areas under Laitumkhrah, Lumdiengjri excluding Mylliem and Mawlai Police Stations), besides others districts operating on Friday.
On Sunday, lifting of stocks will again be allowed in Shillong agglomeration and its adjoining areas which include areas under Laban Police Station (PS) including Lawsohtun, Sadar PS, Rynjah PS including Mawpat Block and Madanrting PS excluding villages under Mylliem and Mawryngkneng Blocks.
The order applies to identified retail shops of listed zones, Civil Sub-Divisions and C&RD Blocks in East Khasi Hills and retail traders duly certified by deputy commissioners of East and West Jaintia Hills, West and South West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi only to specifically pick up stocks for sale on days permitted by respective district administration.
Lifting of stocks will be strictly regulated by executive magistrates stationed on site.
The order also states that registered suppliers and retailers of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department will also open for sale of livestock, poultry and pet food.
SK Oil, Chakki Mills
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills, directed the SK Oil wholesale traders and Chakki Mills (wholemeal atta) of the district to keep their establishments open for lifting of stocks on Friday and Saturday between 9 AM and 4 PM.
The order applies to identified SK Oil retail shops and fair price shops dealers for pick up of stocks for sale on days permitted by the district administration.
