Blood donation camp in Jowai

JOWAI: The Jowai blood bank, on Thursday, organised a blood donation camp at Jowai Civil Hospital Blood Bank in West Jaintia Hills to ensure sufficient stock of blood to meet the demands in case of any emergency during the current situation.
As many as fourteen volunteers from North East Adventist College, Khliehtyrshi, led by its Sociology lecturer, Job Kawlni, who came forward to voluntarily donate their blood for the benefit of others in need.
“Donating blood is a noble cause and selfless act which helps save lives. Giving your blood to someone in need is the most precious gift,” the doctor in-charge of Jowai Blood bank, Shylla said while thanking the volunteers. The doctor informed that since the country is under lockdown due to COVID-19, there is shortage of blood in the bank.
She said that the blood bank is open on all working days from 10 am to 5 pm.
