DC extends curfew in South West Garo Hills

TURA/JOWAI: Curfew in South West Garo Hills has been extended and will continue to remain in force until further orders.
The curfew which comes into force with immediate effect has the same prohibitions and exemptions issued earlier.
Movement of individuals will remain prohibited between 7 pm to 7 am and plying of vehicles other than essential commodities is prohibited.
The timing for the opening of all permitted shops and establishments as well as arrangement for public transport remains the same. The operation of brick kilns, MGNREGA works, construction, irrigation projects, industrial projects, quarrying of chips, etc. will continue as earlier.
Night curfew in EJH
Meanwhile, the East Jaintia Hills District Magistrate has imposed night curfew in the district from 7 pm to 6 am with effect from Monday till Sunday.
Those with emergency for movement can apply for curfew pass online at www.eastkhasihills.gov.in.
