SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) will conduct the remaining exams of Mathematics, Physical Education, Western Music and Statistics on June 8, 9 and 10.
Informing this here on Friday, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that after completing the SSLC examinations, the four papers of HSSLC are still left.
Rymbui added that the department is trying to work out as to how to evaluate the papers.
According to Rymbui, the MBoSE will declare the routine for the remaining examinations on Saturday.
He added that more than 3700 students will appear for the examinations in 59 centres all across the state.
Rymbui, while reacting to a query about the declaration of HSSLC results, said that they are planning to declare the results by the first week of July.
The process of evaluation for SSLC exams is on and the government does not want to put pressure on anybody in view of the prevailing situation.
When asked about the re-opening of schools, he said that the government has an action plan but things would be clear only when the Centre announces its next phase of action after May 17.
Stating that the department has reviewed the curriculum and academe calendar, he admitted that the ongoing situation is abnormal and everybody is walking in a dark tunnel.
“I hope scientists would get a vaccine at the earliest as we are walking in a dark tunnel but we hope to have good days ahead,” he said, while responding to a query on how long the system of online education for students would sustain.
Earlier, he said that the department is concerned about the welfare of the students and hence it tried innovative ideas like CR online system to get information relating to education.
He also said that students can get necessary information through Nice Infotech which is an ADB project and under this, the government has made available the course content of secondary and higher secondary.
Under Diksha project, the government has reviewed textbooks in the system so that the students can get benefits out of it.
Admitting that there is a limited reach of the online education since many teachers and students could not cope with the transformation of the new learning process due to factors of connectivity and disparity between haves and have notes, Rymbui said that the department has also tied up with Door Darshan Kendra, Shillong DTH Airtel channel and even the All India Radio to impart education to the students.
He also informed that some teachers have also actively started using social media platforms such as YouTube to teach important subjects such as Physics.
