4 more areas declared containment zones in Kamrup Metro

GUWAHATI Four more areas under Kamrup Metropolitan district were declared containment zone on Monday  in view of detection of COVID-19 positive cases in those areas – Sarabbhati, Athgaon, Bhaskar Nagar, Block-B, Fatasil and Hajongbari Village under Chandrapur Revenue Circle.
The containment zone at Sarabbhati is bounded by Sankar Lodge to north, Ariya Vidyapeeth Field to south, Labour Commissioner’s Office Campus to east and A K Azad Road to west.
The containment zone at Athgaon is bounded by GST Bhawan to north, Vision Hospital to south, Gol Building to east and Kedar Road to west.
The containment zone at Bhaskar Nagar, Block-B, Fatasil is bounded by Nipon Borah Path to north, Chocolate Factory to south, Part of Bhaskar Nagar B block to east and Nipon Borah Road to west.
The containment zone at Hajongbari Village in Chandrapur is bounded by Narengi-Chandrapur main PWD road to north, Guwahati-Lumding Railway track to south, residence of Pradip Daimary to east and Market complex of Dilip Chetry to west.
Meanwhile, Kamrup Metropolitan district administration has accorded permission to M B Marketing agency and 17 other drug distributors located within the containment zone of Arihan Apartment, Panbazar to deal with distribution of emergency life saving medicines to hospitals and nursing homes in between 10 am to 01 pm with effect from tomorrow (June 9).
However, the drug dealers have been asked to follow the conditions – engagement of limited staff, no vehicle within containment zone, no person will enter Arihan Apartment and all have to maintain COVID-19 protocol.
