USTM launches prog for UG students

SHILLONG: The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), on Tuesday launched a two-month online summer training programme for college students.
“The programme, known as ‘G-STEP’, has been launched to boost the academic and career progression of UG final-year students of Northeastern region amidst this crucial period of COVID 19,” said a statement on Tuesday.
“The Graduate Summer Training for Educational Progression’ (G-STEP) has been mainly developed to provide the students a stimulating stage where they can exercise their talent under the mentorship of highly competent faculty members using various online platforms,” the statement added.
Undergraduate final semester students irrespective of streams having minimum 50 per cent marks in their last semester examination are eligible to apply for this training programme.
A stipend of Rs 500 will be provided per month to all the selected trainees, the statement said, adding the selection process will be based on merit and availability of seats. Students are to apply online and the last date for registrations is July 8.
