SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong of Nongkseh, Raid Sawkur, has registered a complaint against one Jokin Kurkalang, alleging that he and his men demolished fences erected by the Dorbar Shnong on Tuesday morning. The fences that were demolished were erected to protect the drinking water reservoir of Nongkseh locality at 3rd Mile.
The headman of Nongkseh, AL Thangkhiew, said that the Dorbar Shnong felt the need to put up fencing for protecting the drinking water reservoir as recently, some miscreants had poured mobile-like substances on the reservoir following which an FIR was lodged but no arrests were made.
Urging the police authorities to take necessary action as per law, the Dorbar Shnong suspected that the demolition of the fencing around the reservoir may allow access to criminal elements, putting the lives of the residents in danger.
