TURA: The Rongjeng Market in East Garo Hills District was on Tuesday declared a Micro Containment Zone after 3 persons tested positive for Covid-19 during Random Antigen Testing.

The containment area extends from Block Office Campus Gate to Rongjeng Tri-junction (tinali). Soon after the positive cases were detected, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe issued a containment order and has prohibited the entry into exit of people from the area.

“Three persons from the area were tested positive during random testing on Tuesday. We have sealed the market in order to carry out contact tracing of the positive cases,” Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe said.

According to Tembe, the total number of positive cases in the district now stands at 7.
