SHILLONG: A 15-year-old teenager died on the spot while an 11-year-old sustained grievous injuries when the scooty they were riding collided with a mini truck on the Jowai Road near Reserve bank of India, Dhankheti on Wednesday around 7 am.
According to the police, Kiran Sinha, resident of Jylli Shop, Nongthymmai, sustained head injuries and was killed on the spot. He was not wearing a helmet. The pillion rider, Yomiki L Nonglait, was admitted at Bethany Hospital with severe injuries. The driver of the mini truck (NL01 AB 5228) fled from the spot. Police have seized the vehicle.
