SHILLONG: State IT Minister, Hamletson Dohling, on Wednesday expressed confidence that the construction of the Meghalaya Information Technology Society (MITS) building would be completed by March 2021.
After inspecting the project site on Wednesday, Dohling stated that 70 per cent of the work has been completed.
It may be mentioned that the MITS is situated in a 20-acre land in Umsawli, which is sanctioned at Rs 35 crore and constructed by Badri Rai and Co. Construction Ltd.
Dohling said the construction work, which had commenced in December 2018, was stalled in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
Director of the company, Anuj Bansal, said that skilled labour from outside the state is needed for some construction activities and said that necessary permission from the Deputy Commissioner will be sought on this matter.
