16 more die of COVID19 in Assam, toll mounts to 430

GUWAHATI: Sixteen more persons died of COVID19 infection in the state taking the death toll up to 430 even as 2534  new cases were detected in the state on Friday.

State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma identified the deceased as  Priyanka Upadhyay (24) of Dibrugarh, Tulsiram Prajapati (50) of Kamrup, Bhabendra Prasad Bora (60) of  Nagaon, Makesh Kumar Ajitsaria (54) of Nagaon, Krishna Chatterjee (75) of Kamrup Metro, A R Jajodia (77) of Kamrup Metro, Nurul Islam (80) of Morigaon, Paritosh Sarkar (52) of Lakhimpur, Gautom Debnath (32) of Sonitpur, Basanti Bala Paul (75) of Cachar, Promod Das (62) of Karimganj, Tapu Nath (21) of Karimganj, Prabin Ku,ar v(58) of Kamrup Metro, Dipali Gogoi (60) of Dibrugarh, Rafida Begum (65) of Sivasagar, Nikunjalata Bhuyan (75) of Nagaon.

Of the new cases detected on Friday 588 are in Kamrup Metro, 194 in Jorhat, 172 inDibrugarh and 153 in Dhemaji.

Meanwhile, 2628   persons were discharged from various covid care centres and hospitals in the state on Friday.
