e-Stamps
With the intent of streamlining stamp duty collection in Meghalaya, the Cabinet has approved the proposal of inducting e-Stamps in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the stamp services will be introduced in the state due to the inherent shortcomings present in the existing method of collecting Stamp Duty through Non-judicial Stamp papers.

Bill approved
The state cabinet, on Wednesday, approved the Meghalaya Farmers’ Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2020. Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong also informed that the Cabinet has decided that no person will hold office of Chairperson of the Farmers’ Commission after attaining the age of 65 years.

Service extended
The Cabinet, on Wednesday, extended the contractual appointment of HN Arengh as the Secretary of the Meghalaya State Consumer Dispute Rederessal Commissioner for one more year.
