Coal trucks seized
On December 8 around 3.40 pm, Police intercepted two trucks (AS-19C-5299 and AS-19C-4849) driven by Suraj Mohan Gowala (25) of Paikan Barjuli village, Goalpara, Assam and Md Abu Taher (19) of Kalyanpur village, Goalpara, Assam, at Gajingpara, NGH. During enquiry, it transpired that one Deendayal Sharma, owner of both the trucks, loaded coal from Shallang, WKH. Both the trucks were detained and brought to Resubelpara PS for illegal transportation of coal in violation of NGT order.
Assault
Sunny Saha of Jail Road, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on December 10 around 7.30 pm, one person identified as Bidhan, under influence of liquor, came to the shop of the complainant at Keating Road and assaulted him.
Vehicle missing
Skillfully Kharpomtiah lodged a complaint that on December 10 around 1 pm, unknown passenger who booked his Maruti Alto-800 Tourist car (ML-04C-3994), driven by his driver from Fire Brigade, Laitumkhrah, took the vehicle from his driver with an excuse that they need to collect money. However, the unknown passenger has not returned the vehicle till filing of this complaint.
Theft
Elbesstar Majaw lodged a complaint that on December 5 around 4 pm, unknown miscreant stole his Samsung Galaxy mobile phone at Maw-u-Mem Football Ground, Iewshyllong, Laitlyngkot, EKH.
Swapna Dey lodged a complaint that unknown miscreants broke into her residence at Phulbari Bazar, WGH, and stole gold jewelry valued around Rs 12 lakh, one Samsung LED TV, utensils and clothes.
Fraud
Rakhi Nongkhlaw of Lumparing, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on November 6, she handed a gold chain, a pair of gold earrings and a pair of gold bangles, total valuing around Rs 80,000, to one A. Dohkrut of M/s Dohkrut & Sons Jewelers at Basa Syiar Basa Jhur, Iewduh, for repair. When the complainant visited the jeweler’s shop, the goldsmith informed her that the work is still pending while the shop is found closed till date.
