3rd Rangthong Football League ends

Mawkyrwat, Feb 8: The Rangthong Cultural Club & Sports Association had on Saturday concluded the 3rd Rangthong Football League 2020-21 at Madan Mawphuior in Rangthong, South West Khasi Hills District.
In the senior boys category, the final match was played between Dommaw Iawthoh against Tynrong Pepbah. The game ended 0-0 even after extra time. The match had to be settle through tie-breaker, which was won 5-4 by Tynrong Pepbah. In the junior category, Langeitsim defeated Sohlawui by 1-0.
Meanwhile, in the women category, Mawkham were crowned champion after beating Mawtangriang 3-0.
Lawanpyntngen Syiemlieh and Banraplang Syiemlieh of Tynrong Mawpep were the top scorers of the tournament in the senior category with 5 goals each. In the women category, Santiora Snaitang of Mawkham was the top scorer.
The closing ceremony was graced by local MLA/MDC, Pius Marwein, as the Chief Guest in the presence of Mawkyrwat District Sports Association (MDSA) Vice President, Elevenson Wanniang, Myntri of Rangthong village, Kitborlang Nongrem among others.
At the event, Marwein announced that he donated Rs.10 lakh to the Rangthong Cultural Club & Sports Association to improve the football field.
