GUWAHATI, April 22: Sixty-two passengers were found positive in the Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) carried out at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport here on Wednesday.

State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet said the number may rise after the RT PCR tests.

He also requested every passenger coming to Assam to check their COVID status before boarding.

“On April 21, we tested 62 passengers as #COVID ve+ at Guwahati airport in RAT. The number might increase after RTPCR Request every passenger coming to Assam to check their Covid status before boarding. Please follow #COVID19 appropriate behaviour,” the minister tweeted.

On the other hand, recent samples from Upper Assam’s Dibrugarh Airport have been found positive for Indian double mutant, Dr. Sarma wrote in another tweet.
