Office-bearers
A general body meeting of a city-based sociocultural organization, Sree Narayana Guru Cultural Centre (SNGCC), Shillong, was held at its office in Jingkieng on Saturday. According to a statement, office-bearers were elected during the meeting. After the meeting, ES Mawlong was elected as president, N Sengupta as joint secretary, etc. “During the meeting, future plans and programs of SNGCC were chalked out and several resolutions were also passed,” the statement said.
Programme
A programme to mark the English Language Day was organised at the Tura Don Bosco College on Friday. While pointing out to the vastness and beauty of the language, principal of the college, Rev Fr Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, applauded the English department for observing the day and encouraged the students to contribute to the department as well as literature. During the programme, a declamation competition and an essay writing competition was held.
