Lt Gen Pande visits EAC headquarters

SHILLONG, June 13: Lt Gen Manoj Pande, General Officer Commanding (GOC)-in-Chief of Eastern Command, on Sunday visited the EAC headquarters in Shillong. This was the first visit of the Army Commander since assuming charge on June 1.
Lt Gen Pande discussed defence preparedness with Air Marshal Amit Dev, AOC-in-C EAC.
Joint operations and jointmanship was the main focus of discussions, a press release on Sunday said.
The Army Commander was briefed on details of operations by IAF in support of Indian Army in the Eastern Sector. Decisions were also made on conduct of realistic joint training exercises on a regular basis.
Incidentally, both the commanders trained together at the National Defence Academy and graduated from the same batch in December 1981.
