Police seize 2 kg of opium in city

SHILLONG, June 18: Police have recovered two kilograms of opium from the residence of a suspect and arrested one person in connection with the case.
Acting on inputs, a team comprising East Khasi Hills Anti Narcotic Task Force and Madanrting Police raided the residence of a suspect at Madanrting and seized the narcotic substance in the presence of independent witnesses on Thursday, police said in a statement issued here on Friday.
Investigation is on to ascertain more facts into the case, it said.
