100 pc vaccination in many GH villages

SHILLONG/NONGSTOIN, June 25: The semblance in Garo Hills is in the pink as many of the villages in the region have achieved cent per cent vaccination against COVID-19, mostly of people in the age group 45 and above.
As per documents provided to media persons, among the list of these villages, three are from East Garo Hills, 23 in South West Garo Hills, one village of Umdohmyrthih under Bhoirymbong CHC, in Ri Bhoi, and three again under Maheshkhola PHC of South Garo Hills.
In West Garo Hills, Jengjal Kama and Allagre villages under Asanang PHC have achieved 100 per cent vaccination for 45 plus category.
Rongram village in the district has vaccinated 100 per cent of its 45+ age group while 96 per cent of the 18+ have been inoculated so far, as per the data.
Even Depotagre village has achieved the feat of vaccinating 100 per cent of populace in the age group of 45 and above.
As far as East Khasi Hills is concerned, the government data says RR Colony in Rynjah and Kemrang village under Mawkliaw PHC have achieved 100 per cent vaccination coverage.
The state government has of late intensified the vaccination exercise with almost 10,000 people being inoculated daily.
Curfew extended in WKH
West Khasi Hills district magistrate has extended night curfew in the district from June 28 till July 5.
A statement in this regard informed that the night curfew will promulgated every day between 9 pm and 5 am. Inter and intra-district movement will continue to be restricted.
