Sec 144 in EJH; COVID SOPs get stricter

KHLIEHRIAT, Aug 4: The District Magistrate of East Jaintia Hills, in an order, has imposed Section 144 CrPC in the entire district while stating that blatant violations of COVID-19 protocols have been observed in several parts of the district.
In the order, the district magistrate said that wearing of mask is compulsory in work place, public place and during transportation.
Crowded places and shaking hands should be avoided, and individuals must maintain a distance of six feet in public places and shops must ensure physical distance between customers, the order said, adding that spitting in public places will be punishable with fine.
It has also ordered frequent sanitisation of entire workplaces, common facilities and all points which public come in contact with such as door handles etc, and all persons in charge of work places will ensure adequate distance between workers and other staff.
