City basketball team to compete in natl event

SHILLONG, Sep 22: Tyllilang Basketball Academy’s women team will be participating in the 5X5 Basketball Championship, the academy announced on Wednesday.
The first ever basketball academy in Shillong, Tyllilang Basketball Academy will be partaking in its first ever all India basketball tournament.
The event is organised by the Himalayan International Residential School in Siliguri in association with Hoopster’s Hub.
Deemed as one of the biggest basketball events in North Bengal, the tournament is scheduled to run from September 24-26.
The young participants from Meghalaya are selected from several districts of the state.
The young hoopers have been practising hard to make an impact in the tournament and are eager to showcase their talent in the upcoming tournament.
The games will be streamed live on the Tyllilang Basketball Academy’s Facebook page, the academy’s management announced in statement.
