TURA, Oct 4: Garo Hills witnessed as many as three road mishaps across different parts between Sunday night and Monday morning, leaving many injured and one dead. Almost all accidents took place during downpour and speeding is believed to be the reason.
The most serious of the mishaps took place at Songsak Megapgre area when a two-wheeler (ML-13A-2084) collided head on with a car (ML-10-4554) at Nengsamgre village, during rainfall. The collision killed biker Wilin R Marak from Rongbing Boldek village on the spot.
Few hours earlier, two other road mishaps took place — one at Samanda and other at Siju reserve — which left two bikers injured. One of them, a 19-year-old, is said to be critically injured due to head injury and has been shifted for medical treatment outside the region.
