3rd Division Football: Laitlyngkot, Sohryngkham register big wins

SHILLONG, Nov 24: Sohryngkham SC smashed five goals to register a huge 5-0 win against Umlyngka SC while Laitlyngkot SC defeated Umpling SC 3-0 in Third Division football matches here on Wednesday. Sohryngkham didn’t score until the 34th minute when MacDonald Dkhar beat the goalkeeper. Thereafter, it began raining goals with Marbud Kharmalki (45′), Mebanriskhem Nongkhlaw (51′) and Bankyrshan Nongrum (63′) adding their names to the scoresheet. Later, Laitlyngkot secured a comfortable win against Umpling. Bhakupar Rynjah scored his side’s first in the 8th minute. Tebanroy Nongkynrih doubled the lead in the 56th before Banteiskhem Nongrum made it 3-0 ten minutes later. In the first quarterfinal of the Third Division, Mawtawar SC will meet Rynjah SC on December 3, at 2 pm.
