RT-PCR not required to visit Meghalaya by fully-vaccinated persons

Shillong, Feb 9: Meghalaya government today decided ease COVID-19 related curbs imposed in the state following a review meeting here today. The decisions taken in the meeting will come into force in the state from February 11.

Following decisions were taken in the meeting vis-à-vis COVID-19 situation in the state:

  • No RT-PCR test will be needed for double-vaccinated individuals coming to the state.
  • Night curfew will be lifted.
  • Schools (from classes 1-5) to be fully functional from Monday (Feb 14).
  • No permission required for holding funerals but protocols should be followed.
  • Large gatherings, public meetings and weddings only after receiving permission from the respective DC.
  • Bars, restaurants and movie theatres will be restricted only for double-vaccinated persons.
  • Odd-even system of plying of vehicles to continue in Shillong.
