MAWKYRWAT, Feb 28: National People’s Party (NPP) Nongstoin MLA, Macmillan Byrsat, has vent his confidence in the NPP to get absolute majority in the upcoming 2023 Assembly

“I have done my assessment and I have no doubt that the party will get majority in 2023 general election,” Byrsat said in a meeting for the announcement of the party’s Mawkyrwat candidate by NPP Mawkyrwat Block Committee here on Monday.
In the meeting, NPP declared retired MCS officer and former Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Ranikor, H Stalyne Diengdoh, as the party representative from Mawkyrwat Constituency in South West Khasi Hills.
The announcement was made by the working president of the NPP Meghalaya unit in charge of West and South West Khasi Hills, Gigur Myrthong.
Stating that the party has grown to its fullest in the Khasi hills region, Myrthong expressed his hope on the fact that NPP will win all the seats in West and South West Khasi Hills district in the upcoming general elections.
He further urged upon the hundreds of leaders and supporters that attended the meeting to work hard so that Diengdoh wins his seat from Mawkyrwat in the forthcoming election.
In the meeting, Diengdoh was welcomed into NPP in the presence of hundreds of leaders and supporters.
Expressing his gratitude for having been declared as the Mawkyrwat representative, right on his first day of joining, Diengdoh vowed to work hard for the constituency and reaching the collective goals of the party.
Others who spoke include State women President of the NPP, P Nongpluh, National Working President of the NPYF, Nicky Nongkhlaw, State President NPYF, Kitborlang Nongrem and District President NPP, East Khasi Hills, J Kurbah.
