TMC names Dhormonath for CEM election

Tura, Mar 4: Trinamool Congress (TMC), which is in the opposition in the GHADC has decided to put up Naguapara MDC as the party’s candidate for the election to the post of the Chief Executive Member (CEM), to be held on Saturday.

 

The NPP has already named Siju MDC Albinush Marak as its candidate after Babelapara MDC Rakesh A Sangma stepped down amidst protest by pressure groups.

 

“We have decided to support the candidature of Dhormonath for the post. We are contesting the election with a view to ensure the fulfillment of long pending demands which include, implementation of Garo Customary Law, preparation of separate electoral roll, establishment of Council offices in all district headquarters and to provide salaries to the employees as per the 5th Pay Commission,” its Spokesperson and Williamnagar MDC, Alphonsus R Marak said.
