Trio gets five years over sexual assault

SHILLONG, March 23: The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, East Khasi Hills, has convicted three persons of sexually assaulting a minor and awarded them five years of imprisonment.
According to a statement, the convicts — Mahindra Sahi, Oshun Chettri and Bobby Chettri — had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy on June 11, 2011, following which a case was registered against them at Lumdiengjri Police Station. They were then chargesheeted on July 7, 2011.
