Islamabad, April 10: Nomination papers of Pakistan joint opposition’s candidate Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Shah Mahmood Qureshi for the prime minister’s post have been approved by the National Assembly (NA) of Pakistan.
The NA on Sunday announced that the nomination papers of both candidates were scrutinised, after which they were accepted.
To elect the new prime minister, the assembly will convene at 2 pm on Monday. On March 8, Sharif, joint Opposition’s candidate for prime minister, had tabled the no-confidence motion in the Assembly against Imran Khan. (UNI)
